Trial Manager and Judges Reports

Thank you to everyone who turned out either competitor helper or judge to our first trial at Ston Easton village hall. I wasn’t entirely sure how it would work out, taking into account local dog walker etc and was very pleased to find everyone on there best behaviour. Caroline O’Hare did an excellent job with the assistance of Zoe Heritage on the stop watch judging tables and chairs and vehicle, did have to do a bit of puddle dodging but it all went ok in the end. I was the 2nd judge assisted by Lynne Mitchell who also did all the computer stuff, she’s an absolute angel, the exterior items proved rather entertaining when the largest dog taking part physically picked up the rather heavy motocross boot on which the scent was stuck and presented it to her handler after telling her several times which was the correct item, brilliant. All bar one got 4 finds, nerves got the better of Pat which was a shame. Lastly I must thank the runners Callie and Robert also Thelma who kept the tea and coffee coming.
