Trial Manager and Judges Reports

Thankyou Stacey for inviting me along to judge the level 1 and 5 trials at Haynes.
It was a Lovely day with a mild breeze.
A white dog was used prior to all searches commencing.I began with the level one, 6 entrants in total.
LEVEL ONE
—————-
Boxes/Luggage
———————-
12 items were laid out,the scent was concealed in the handle of a case, sited to far right of the area.
Only 3 dogs were successful here with Andrea and Tizzy leading the way home in 8 seconds.

Exterior
————
This was Set up on the rear car park, and 13 items were laid out.The 3 named items(a large plastic water pistol,a stool and a car foot pump,(scented),were positioned to the right, rear right and middle of the search area.
5 of the teams finding the scent with reasonable ease.Lovely searching here by,Sue and Lexi,Rachael and Winston and Gemma and Oscar.

Vehicle
————
The scent was hidden on the sill close to the passenger front wheel, furthest away from the start line, the breeze was blowing towards the start cones.
5 teams found the scent easily, excellent displays all round.

Tables/Chairs
———————
The standard 2 tables and 8 chairs were set up in a square pattern in the main hall. The scent was hidden under the furthest away chair to the right.
All 6 finding this with ease.Excellent display all round with,Andrea and Tizzy and Deborah and Jonesy leading the way home in some 12 seconds.

My congratulations go to eventually rosette winners on the day…
1…Andrea and Tizzy….2….Rachael and Winston….3….Sue and Lexi….4…Deborah and Jonesy.

Level 5
———-
We had 12 entrants in total.
I commenced with interior 1 search which was held in a large room adjoining the main hall.
5 scents were placed out around the room,on a radiator,a pouffe, inside some black matting, bottom of a door and under a table. After running the white dog,4 minutes were allocated.
Good display overall with 8 of the teams finding all,and 3 finding 4.
Worthy of note were Vicky and Dexter,Jo and Dolly,Katherine and Heston ..
Exterior
————
I used the area to the rear of the main building, setting out 3 hides.
2 were concealed in the wheels of 2 large commercial bottle bank bins, the 3rd tucked into a paving slab adjoining a man hole cover.
3 minutes was allocated.
This search really tasked the dogs, with only 3 finding all 3 and 6 finding 2.
It was a mixed bag with no particular hide being the problem.

Interior 2
—————
This was set up in the shower changing room area, consisting of a large shower room,2 changing rooms and a foyer area.
4 scents were hidden within.
This proved to be be the most successful search of the day, with all but 1 of the dogs finding all 4 hides.
Showing the way home were,Vicky and Dexter, closely followed by Margaret and Time,Teresa and Archie and Jo and Dolly.

A lovely way to spend my afternoon it was my pleasure to judge this level 5.I knew all of the competitors and it was nice to see their progression.
My congratulations go to the eventual rosette winners on the day.
1…Vicky and Dexter…2…Margaret and Time…3…Wendy and Winnie…4…Katherine and Heston…

Well done to everyone and I look forward to seeing you all again at d sometime in the future…
