It was a lovely chilly day for our level 2 trial.
We started of with the table and chairs. The hides were on the chair at the far end of the table and the black lid. 9 out of the 11 teams found both which hopefully settled all the nerves down.
We then moved on to the exterior, the hides were on the helmet and the tennis ball launcher. This area gave the competitors no issues with some beautiful handling by Yvette, Sharon and Shelly.
Boxes and luggage which can usually be some teams nemesis again gave most team no problems with 9 out of the 11 teams finding both. The hides were on the black handbag and a cardboard box which was situated on the right of the search area.
Charmer confidently walked over suitcases and bags to get to the odour and little Iris had definitely got into the game.
The vehicle/wall search proved the most challenging of the day, with all the teams finding the hide at the bottom of the wall. The hide by the pipe was found only by 4 out of the 11 teams. The wind was constantly changing direction so it made it harder for the dogs to work into the source.
Although not many found this hide the team work was lovely to see and all the dogs worked their noses off.
I would like to thank Jo for being a wonderful runner and Sally for being my scribe.
I hope you all enjoyed the trial as much as I enjoyed judging it. I look forward to seeing all the teams progress with their Scentwork journey.
