1 Amie Pendarves – Bonnie – 150
2 Caroline O’Hare – Balian – 100
3 Nikki Thorpe – Zigzag – 100
We started the trial at 10 0’clock with 10 dogs competing. Lindsay Gilmore had kindly agreed to judge for me and was at the venue nice and early to finalise her search areas. Some of the competitors had nightmare journeys and arrived just in time for the judges briefing, but I had offered to put them on last in case they couldn’t beat the traffic. The weather wasn’t very kind and rained for most of the day. Some of the dogs got a dry run on the exterior but it started to rain towards the end. Julie Cox was my brilliant runner. I was scribing so hardly saw her all day but handlers all arrived on time and I love Julie in the back ground, she is the perfect runner/helper of all things. Lindsay was a very efficient and friendly judge. Roger acted as White Dog and despite getting wet and developing a great 1980’s perm did very well. I saw some fabulous teams working and learnt so much from watching all the different types of teams work. I love being able to give out excellent rosettes and what a fabulous team Amie and Bonnie were. The competitors all remained positive and happy despite the rain. We finished by 2.30 and it was a great way to do one of these higher level trials, with it being a smaller entry and the only level on the day.
