I would like to thank Pippa Bentham for asking me to judge her level 1 trial at Hinton Blewett on Saturday September 9th, and Zoe Heritage for being the scribe extrordinaire.
Thank you to all the handlers for keeping cheerful in the pouring rain.
I set searches that would show the dogs working, but were straight forward.
Although there were a few handling marks lost and a couple of false alerts, I was very impressed with how sympathetically all the dogs were handled – well done.
I think it is worth repeating here my main comment of the day……
“Please don’t look on your points deductions or false alerts as failures, they are learning experiences!”
I thoroughly enjoyed my first judging appointment.
Well despite the rain everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. So thank you to the entrants for coming along in the rain and working your dogs. Our judge Steph Rendall did a great job of hiding her nerves (this was her first judging appointment) and putting everyone at ease. Steward Zoe Heritage was as efficient as ever doing a fabulous job of keeping everyone in order, thank you both for your time. Must mention the white dog, Teggi worked magnificently in all the searches but her best indication had to be on the expired mouse in the doorway which non of us had noticed, well done Teggi and thank you.
