Trial Manager and Judges Reports

Thankyou Nigel for asking me to judge today and to both you and Tina for making us so welcome. I was very spoilt being chauffeured to Dagglingworth by Lisa Finney, who had kindly offered to scribe for me.
We started with Level 3 and there were some great searches and results. There were some incredible times. Everyone was pleased to be back in action and most of the dogs worked as though last year hadn’t happened.
It was a close contest and won by Steph Rendall with her crackling little girl Freya. With Ruby and Boo Boo hot on their heels.
It was a lovely trial, very friendly and happy, lots of smiling faces, which made for an easy, enjoyable day.
I will be interested to see these dogs coming up through the grades.
Many thanks to my efficient scribe, Lisa, who made my task so much easier, and to all the competitors who all seemed to be where they should be at the right time.
Well done everyone looking forward to seeing you all again soon.

Nigel Wilkes Trial Manager

The Afternoon Level 1 Trial started a little late, but again we had Sue Benson and Tina Schuster Judging which made the trial fly by and some of the fines were made in very quick times. Again the teams were all ready and not as nervous as I expected. The weather was still warm and I was again TM and runner, although everyone was waiting for their turns so I was almost redundant!! It meant that occasionally, teams went out of order but everyone was accommodating and the trial finished around 3.00 pm. 6 teams scored 100 point so the winner was decided on time with Amanda Mundall and Farley winning on a combined total of 49.08 seconds for the 4 search areas. Well done to everyone that qualified and a special thanks to Sue Benson and Lisa (Judge and Scribe) as well as Tina and Helen (Judge and Scribe) for doing such a great job.

Nigel Wilkes Trial Manager

its was a warm day and I arrived early to set up the searches for the day. This was our first trial after COVID and was originally listed for March 2020 and cancelled twice. Our first trial was Level 3 and the competitors arrived on time so our Judge Sue Benson gave a quick briefing and we were on our way just after 9.15 am. We had 11 teams all eagerly waiting to commence. Unfortunately due to the hall restrictions I could not provide refreshments for the handlers, but for the dogs cool water was provided to drink and by the side of the hall a little stream was a nice invite to those dogs who wished to cool down. As well as the Trial Manager I was also the runner, so did not see many of the searches but from those I saw the teams worked well. The morning flew by and we had a couple of early arrivals for the Level 1 later in the day, but Tina made sure in her German fashion that they all parked neat and tidy! We finished just and 1.30 where Sue Benson presented the rosettes and trophy to the winner Steph Rendall and Freyja who also got their ‘Excellent’ award. Well done to everyone who qualified and a special thank you to Sue our Judge and Lisa Finney our scribe for the day.
