Thank you Marie for asking me to judge this Level 1 which was very well organised. Competitors were asked to arrive in groups of three/two and Marie took on the task of timekeeping/scorer as well as Trials Manager. There was a strong wind blowing and this was taken into consideration in placing the hides. Competitors were a mixture of experienced handlers with new dogs and people competing for the first time, all dogs worked very well and no doubt will be moving up the levels quite quickly. Everyone qualified with nearly all hides being found in less than a minute, leaving little time for handlers to make mistakes, hence the good handling marks as well. There was no obvious winner until all the scores were in with the results being decided on overall times.
