Level 2
I was so pleased with the good sportsmanship and supportive atmosphere in the level 2 group. Everybody was very friendly and the trial ran very smoothly. Thank you to David Hart for helping with the running. Thank you to Peter Giles, Lynda Bowers and Maggie Yates for helping with scribing and thank you to Geof Dixon and Sue Abbott-Dixon for judging. The trial could not have run without you. Congratulations to Sharon Smith and Inca for coming first. I have known Inca’s journey with competition and this is testament to your hard work. In second place we had Rio who only four week ago had patella surgery so was hobbling along but quite happily. In third place we had Eileen Giles and Maisie. I was so pleased to see this as I know how hard Eileen has worked for this. And in Fourth place we had Claire Lacey and Ruby, again a doggie with poorly legs so it is lovely to see her getting out and about and participating in a sport which she can enjoy. Congratulations to all the qualifiers – the standard of work was incredible, and also a special congratulations to the two dogs who did not qualify but learnt lot and hopefully enjoyed the experience and we will see you back again. We had some stage diving dogs (Tia), some judge molesting dogs (Dillan) and some very nervous handlers who worked through their fears. Well done and see you all again soon.

Level 4
Thank you to Geoff Dixon and Sue Abbott-Dixon for judging and thank you to Maggie Yates and Lorraine Coley for scribing. It was such a long day for you all and it could not have happened without you. The searches set were tough, particularly the tables and chairs and perimeter and you all faced the challenge and worked your dogs beautifully, showing that you are ready to go up to level 5. In first place we had Foxy and Lynda Bowers with a whooping 99.85. In second place we had Tally and Janice Short. Janice also had to work very hard working her other collie, Gem, who unfortunately did not qualify. It can be really hard working two dogs as they often have such different work styles, strengths and weaknesses. Third place was Queeva-Diva and I know how much this will mean to Chris. Fourth place was Rio and Michelle Murray. Again, I know this will mean a lot to Michelle and this is testament to her hard work. Qualifying we had Lucy, Nellie and Charlie. A massive congratulations as it was a tough test and you all stepped up to the challenge. I hope to see you all again in a level 5 trial soon.

Kind Regards

Laura

Thank you Laura for asking us to Judge your Level 2 and 4 trials.

We arrived at this lovely venue, and began to set up for the Level 2, I was outside and Geof inside,

The 1st thing I have to mention is how comfortable the teams seemed outside at this venue. I find that alot of times these are the most nerve wracking elements, but not this time, and actually everyone performed really well.
Maisie had a perfect Exterior search, but there were many really lovely searches.

The Vehicle search was very straight forward too. Theo set the tone with a lovely, well handled search. Ludo was stunning. Liberty was handled really well, as was Rio and Chester. Inca tracked the scent to source beautifully.
Meanwhile inside, Tia was showing us all how and table and chairs search should be done, Oscar did a lovely job too.

Inca did a wonderful boxes and luggage search.

We noted here that there were a couple of dogs that were recovering for injuries, and were being worked on lead, which was unfamiliar for dog and owner. These decisions were made for the welfare of the dog, and we have to say it was lovely to see how much you care for your dogs, and actually you coped really well.

After lunch we began getting ready for the Level 4.
We had some amazing teams here, and they were a joy to watch.
Foxy was phenomenal in all elements on the day. “What a Team! “

I set a very early scent on the Exterior search which surprised a couple of handlers….. but not the dogs. Nellie was perfect,as was Queeva Diva, and Lucy decided that she was finding a level 4 too easy, so decided to do her own level 5, and search the building too, she’s such a sweet girl.

The vehicle search was conducted efficiently by everyone. Charlie did a very very nice search here.

Inside, Rio, Tally Queeva Diva, and Foxy were all performing well.
Geof wanted me too mention here that its lovely to watch Helen and Nellie, Helens enthusiasm drives Nellie on to do well, a really lovely team.

Also, thank you to all our helpers on the day.

Hopefully see you all again.
