Trial Manager and Judges Reports

Thank you to Karen for inviting me to Judge the Level 2 and also to Paul Bailey for being my very able scribe. I judged the Table, Chairs and Perimeter first and then the Vehicle and Wall search. The standard of competitors was extremely high and it was lovely to see the high standard of handling on both the searches. Well done to all the teams for qualifying. Congratulations must go to the Hazel and Cedar who were the eventual winners and also to Emma and Alfie who achieved their Level 2 Excellence Title and rosette.

I would like to thank Karen for inviting me to Judge at Chacombe 30th Oct at level 2. I would also like to thank my scribe Keith. I judged the exterior search 1st and was surprised by the standard of searching. Next I judged the Boxes and Luggage and again there was some really good searching. Emma with Alfie worked her dogs really well and Hazell with Cedar who had a excellent bond with her dog. I would like to congratulate the following 4 who where placed:
Hazell with Cedar who came 1st
Lucy with Milo who came 2nd
Michael with Alfie who came 3rd
Rachael with Esme who came 4th
Also congratulations to Emma with Alfie who gained her excellence at Level 2.

I was so pleased to be arranging trials again, but slightly dreading we might have heavy rain for the morning! However after a wet start the skies cleared by the start time and we enjoyed some welcome autumn sunshine!
It was Level 2 in the morning and Level 5 in the afternoon.
The two fantastic teams of judges, scribes and helpers worked hard to get everything set up and we were rewarded by the brilliant searches demonstrated by the competing teams. The level of handling was outstanding in both trials and I was delighted when all but one of the teams qualified.
The Level 2 vehicle search was two vehicles and a wall. This seemed to go OK for everyone. The scent soaks seemed to hold up well in the damp conditions. With two judges working an interior and exterior search at the same time we managed to get everything finished in under 2.5 hours.
Congratulations to our winner Hazell and her young dog Cedar and to Emma and Alfie for qualifying and gaining their Level 2 excellence title and rosette.

The Level 5 trial took a lot longer as there was one judge and we needed additional time for handlers to check out the search areas at the start. The teams had been putting in the training and we had some great scores.
Congratulations to our Level 5 winner Sue and her dog Fern on finding all the hides in a very smart time.

Thank you to Judges Mary Allen, Lynda Stangle and L5 Judge Susan Benson. Thanks to scribes Paul Bailey and Keith Clowes, and helpers Mike Beveridge and Lynda Crossland. Thank you to Keith and Monty for being the white dog. Well done everyone.
