Level one part 2
My first judging appointment away from ‘home ground’, thanks for Georgina and Katrina for asking me.
We had 8 teams to get through and the weather was a bit questionable! However, it cleared up almost as soon as the first search was set.
External articles first, the search was set in a metre length of plastic drainage. All teams chose to have the articles narrowed down.
The search worked well, only one team miscalling.
First internal search was Boxes/bags, set in a bag. The dogs went around and searched well, two miscalls this time, on the articles next to the correct one.
The vehicle provided was a nice van with lots of hidey holes! I set the search on a side roll bar underneath. Many of the dogs caught the scent before they were released into the area, again only one miscall.
Finishing with the T/C I went for a simple pattern with the find on a chair, again only one miscall.
Very few handling marks deducted, nothing major. Mainly ignoring indications or convincing the dog it was elsewhere! Overall lovely partnerships and I thoroughly enjoyed watching everyone.
