Thankyou to Nigel for asking me to judge for him. It was a lovely day and it was great to watch all these dogs do some amazing searches. As Nigel said the floor was an attraction to quite a few but most managed to get them back on track.
A very worthy winner Allison and Dylan. Will be watching out for this team in the future.
It was a very friendly day with all the competitors saying how much they’d enjoyed it. Well done to you all.
This was the first trial I have organised since Covid-19 and it was a trial that was cancelled in March Prior to Covid-19. Susan Benson was our Judge for the day and I scribed for Sue. I had arranged for 4 teams to attend in the morning and 5 for the afternoon, however, one competitor came to the morning session instead! It was a lovely day and Sue set up some interesting hides in all 3 search areas.
It was interesting watching the dogs work and how the handlers managed them and it was noticeable that some of the dogs where more interested in sniffing the floor than searching for the scent. It was a good day as 8 out of nine teams passed and Alison and Dylan scored a maximum of 150 point finding all hides and gaining bonus points as well. There was no doubt who won and it was richly deserved.
I would like to thank all the teams for attending as well as a big thank you to Sue for Judging.
