Trial Manager and Judges Reports

L2 Annesley 22 02 2022

Thank you, Linda and Kev, for inviting me to judge part of your level 2 trial today. The venue was super, and the day was very well run by Linda and Kev. Mandy was my steward for the day and did an excellent job, making it easy for me to concentrate solely on the judging.

Also, the competitors, who were all a joy to judge, being pleasant and cheerful throughout the whole of the trial.

The amazing thing about Scentwork UK is the range of sizes and breeds taking part. Today no matter the size or breed they all provided excellent performances. A joy to watch and to judge.

All competitors qualified with today’s winner gaining her excellent rosette. I hope everyone went home having had a great afternoon and were pleased with their performances and planning their next trial.

Pauline James.

Thanks to Linda and Kev for the invitation to judge at their first SWUK trial. Everything was perfect! Great management, fab venue, lovely dogs and handlers. Thanks to my Level 1 scribe Nigel and my Level 2 scribe Kev. Both did a perfect job and were great company, making my job easier. Linda was, as to be expected, a fab trials manager!
Level 1 – Containers and Exterior. I was very impressed by the excellent work and handling of dogs and owners. All the dogs were handled sympathetically. Most of the dogs are more than ready to move into Level 2.
Level 2 – Wall and Tables/Chairs/Perimeter. Again some very good dogs, and although handling was for the most part good, there was a reluctance for a few people to believe the dog’s indication (and the indications were excellent). It was the first time I’ve judge a Wall Section and the dogs were impressive. Keen, workmanlike and all ignoring the obvious distraction of a well used Wall!
Well done everyone who competed, I had a great day, I hope you did.
