Fosdyke was a very wet and grey start for the level 2’s.
I was judging outside, and got extremely drenched. My main point is that not one person came outside to start their search moaning or complaining about the awful weather. Which I think is wonderful. As the weather was so bad, I dis make a point of changing the scent every 2nd person, so everyone got a good chance before the rain killed the scent. I feel this gave the group the confidence to come out and do it. So a big well done to the level 2s.
Level 6 was luckier with the weather. The sun popped out for a little bit of the afternoon which gave me time to dry out while guiding people to where they were needed for this tough level.
Becky judged this, and said the standard was brilliant. Only point she could think of was people not giving the dogs the time to trace the scent to the correct location, and calling it outside of the 6 inches. But it was a lovely group and everyone did their best.
Great trial. Hoping all enjoyed both levels.
