Wow what a day, couldn’t have asked for better weather or a nicer bunch of competitors, thank you.

Big thanks to Denise Pile for accepting the invitation to judge, you did a fantastic job, put everyone at their ease and set very doable tests.

I’m sure many of you know that I am a bit of a ludite dinosaur when it comes to computers. I am reliant on others to do the technical stuff so I consider myself very fortunate to have Lynne and Neil Mitchell helping me to run trials, Lynne is a brilliant scribe, who I know I can rely on to operate the stop watch and be the judges right hand person. Neil is not only a very efficient runner but he is the computer wizard sorting out entries, doing the running orders, sending out the running orders and on the day dealing with the scoresheet, thank you both I could not do it without you.

Kay who had come along to cheer on Shelley and Jane, found herself roped in to help with the running, thank you.

Lynne also provided the white dog in the shape of Rowan who did an excellent job testing the hides, thank you Rowan.

I’ll leave the judge to mention the competitors individually, but I’d just like to say thank you for entering, bringing cake and biscuits and being a lovely group encouraging each other.

Well done everyone.

Pippa Bentham trials manager

I had a really good day thank you Pippa for asking me and thank you very much Lynne for scribing and Neal for shepherding everyone. The standard of the handlers was very high no one blamed their dogs for getting anything wrong and most of the dogs seemed to enjoy the work, some handlers were obviously nervous, Shaun you need to take deep breaths or a swig of whiskey!! some handlers needed to trust their dog a bit more and some needed to give the dog a little more time to be sure but that will all come in time and more practise. Everyone was very friendly and all those lovely cakes wow.
