Thank you Jackie for asking me to judge. We were really lucky with the weather. Every one worked well and nearly all the dogs tried their best, Molly could have been a little bit more enthusiastic. The biggest problem was handlers talking their dogs into thinking there was a scent on something when the dog had already dismissed it, Trust your dog they usually know best. Honey did very well she was the only dog that found every thing most of the others called one wrong alert but it was not the same article each time it was all different ones spread over all 4 searches and none on a distraction scent, so I don’t really know what was going on. anyway I enjoyed the afternoon so thanks again Jackie.
A big thank you to our judge, Denise Pile, who set some great searches for our Level 4s today. It was a little bit blowy but most of the dogs coped very well with the conditions and we were lucky enough not to see much rain at all. Many thanks as ever to all the helpers, who kindly give up their time to make it possible to put on these trials. We definitely couldn’t do it without you!
It was lovely to have a few competitors make the journey from out of county and it was good to hear that you found the ‘locals’ friendly and welcoming!
Many congratulations to Andrew with his Rottweiler, Honey, the only team to gain full points today! Also a big well done to everyone who came along, whether qualifying or taking home some positives from the trial today. After all, don’t we all take the best dog home at the end of the day? 🙂
