Another new venue for Scotland at the lovely Arniston House. Thank you to June for agreeing to judge on what turned out to be a very cold day.  Snow and Ice set the scene for a Level 3 trial with 7 competitors (6 ran, 5 finished).  The venue for this trial is an old Orangery and as such is one big long building.  With some carefully placed baffle boards we cordoned off an area for tea and coffee and some heat! We started with the Vehicle Search followed with the Tables/Perimeter then Exterior followed by Container.

The vehicle search proved tricky for some.  One find was in the rear doors of the van and the other was in above the front passenger tyre of one of the other cars. Tables/Perimeter saw some good searches and only 2 false alerts.  An interesting perimeter search with old stone walls, metal and wood benches and no cupboards or drawers, the scent was hidden deep inside some folding chairs in a doorway.  The snow played a big part in the Exterior Search with the dogs being very interested ins scenting the ground around the search area and resulting in 3 false alerts.  Finally, the container search was very successful with just one false alert.  Lesley-Ann and Harris were in 1^st place with the only Clean Sweep and full points. Beth and Gus were in a well deserved 2^nd place on 89 points with Gus making a speedy recovery from a fright when the biomass boiler was being fed behind the building! Third place went to Lucy and Poppy on 87 points and Jimmy and Holly taking 4^th place with 78 points.
