Judges Report

Thank you to Hayley for the invitation to judge –
Level 2 – I judged the two interior searches – a strong group of teams with several looking to achieve their excellence today, many teams I have judged previously and it was nice to see the improvement in the indications, this was reflected in the times as handlers are now having more confident to call alerts. A comment I made on the day was that quite a few of the dogs are heavy pawed !! with the boxes/bags, not trashing but one to watch moving up the levels. Congratulations to all the teams.
Level 7 – I judged the exterior search – the temperature starting to warm up but we were able to make use of the shaded area. Excellent indications from all the teams. The two scents that caused the problems for several were both gun oil and placed on items low to the ground, the bucket handle (some dogs just floating over the top of the bucket )- the other being on the frame work laid flat on the grass, the dogs that missed this did knock it but the handlers were insistent that it was on the pipework on the side of the adjacent building so didn’t allow the dogs time to free search in that area. Overall it was a pleasure to watch all the teams Very well done everyone.
