Thank you to everyone for coming along to this re-organised trial because of the warm weather last week.
The hall was still very, very warm but outside was much cooler. Thank you to elaine for stepping in to help judge the new date.
I hope you found the searches interesting.
Judges Report
Hayley Whitaker: I judged the exterior area where it was thankfully nice and cool. Thanks to Graham for being my scribe.
There were 5 odours and we did a tour afterwards to show everyone where they were, I hope people found that useful. Odour was on the green metal container towards the bottom, in the longer cardboard tube in the bucket, on the bucket handle near the BBQ, in the mortar line on the BBQ and on the little tree in the tie with the stake. Some competitors had a really clear plan of how they intended to tackle the area and cleared each area as they went along – they tended to do better. The hide in the tree tie (clove) gave a few problems although most dogs knew they were in odour, they just struggled to work back to source (and I think owners were worried about wee’s). The hide in the bucket handle also caused a few issues – there were a lot of buckets! A lot of peopel searched the large tree really well and were convinced the BBQ must have a second hide. It was lovely seeing some great teams at work – well done everyone!
